SMASHED VISIT PREPARATION

PLEASE READ THE DETAILS BELOW AND COMPLETE THE FORM SUPPLYING OUR TEAM
WITH THE INFORMATION REQUIRED FOR YOUR VISIT.

The production and workshop:
The theatre element is 30 minutes, followed by a facilitated 20 minute workshop – 50 minutes overall. (The session length can be individualised to your school if required.)

Health and Safety:
While on the school grounds, we comply with your health and safety process. In the event of a fire, evacuation or other emergency we’ll take your lead, so we require at least one staff member in the room with us at all times.

Stage and equipment
  • The session can be held in a school hall, auditorium, large gymnasium or similar space.
  • Our 'stage' set up needs a clear area a minimum of 5m deep by 8m wide. We can perform on an elevated stage or on the floor.
  • We bring our own equipment and sound system. We just need access to power by our stage area for our sound system.
  • We need access to the performance room a minimum of 30 minutes prior for setup, and 5 - 10 minutes for pack down afterwards.

Teaching support
The workshop provides valuable discussion that you can continue in your own time with students, so attendance by teachers is a valuable opportunity.

Teacher resources to support the post production work are available online here.

Evaluation
Programme evaluation is important for us, so you may have a request from us for students to complete a brief pre and post evaluation of the experience.
